Duration: 8 Hours

Course Description: This course deals with the provision of Advanced First Aid resuscitation techniques, life support, and management of casualty(s) until the arrival of medical or other assistance, and provision of support to other providers.

Objectives: To enable the operation of an automated external defibrillator and administration of oxygen for therapy and resuscitation that will enable a life to be sustained until professional help arrives.

Course Content:

• The legal issues of providing First Aid
• Management of unconscious non-breathing casualty
• Perform CPR
• Automated External Defibrillator
• Oxygen Administration for therapy and resuscitation
• Infection control

Assessment:
Assessment will be performed progressively throughout the course using demonstrations of practical skills, scenario’s and short answer theory questions.
